Year 12s Take Over Donkeyman Records for Advocacy Unit!

As part of their Year 12 Literacy Unit 4 – Speaking to Advise or Advocate assessment, our students had the exciting opportunity to visit Donkeyman Records in Rowville on Tuesday, 14 October.

Working in small groups, students produced and professionally recorded 15–20 minute podcast episodes that either advised others by providing practical information and guidance, or advocated for positive change on issues that matter most to young people.

Topics explored included youth homelessness, mental health, climate action, workplace rights, and gender equality. The experience gave students a unique insight into the creative process of podcasting, combining literacy skills with real-world communication and collaboration.
