Enrolment Applications
Understanding the enrolment process
At Urban College, we understand that choosing the right learning environment for your young person is an important decision — especially if they’ve had challenges in mainstream education. Our enrolment process is designed to be personal, transparent, and supportive from the very first contact.
Below is an overview of what to expect when applying for enrolment at Urban College.
1. Initial Contact
After you submit your online enquiry form, the Head of Campus will reach out to your family using the contact details provided. This initial contact is an opportunity to introduce Urban College, answer any early questions, and discuss the next steps in the process. We aim to ensure families feel comfortable and informed from the very beginning.
2. Eligibility Assessment
The next stage involves an initial phone conversation with the Head of Campus. During this discussion, we explore the student’s background, current educational challenges, and learning goals. This helps determine whether Urban College is the right fit for their needs and ensures our programs can provide the appropriate level of support.
This step also gives families a chance to share their story and understand more about how Urban College operates — with a focus on flexibility, wellbeing, and re-engagement.
3. Enrolment Meeting
If the student is considered eligible for enrolment, the family will be invited to attend an Enrolment Meeting at the campus. This visit includes a school tour and an opportunity to meet key members of the Urban College team, such as teachers, wellbeing staff, and support coordinators.
The meeting provides a more in-depth look at what Urban College offers, including our learning pathways, wellbeing programs, and daily structure. It’s also a chance for us to learn more about the student’s academic needs, personal interests, and the type of support that will help them succeed.
4. Enrolment Decision
After the Enrolment Meeting, the Head of Campus will review all information discussed and contact the family with an outcome. If the application is successful, families will receive an enrolment offer along with the necessary documentation to finalise the process.
At this stage, we’ll also confirm key details such as the start date and any other important preparations to help the student transition smoothly into school life at Urban College.
5. Individual Education Plan Development
Once enrolment is confirmed, our staff will work with the student and their family to develop a tailored Individual Education Plan (IEP). This plan outlines learning goals, areas of focus, and any adjustments or supports required to ensure the student’s success.
We believe in collaboration — families, students, and staff all play an active role in shaping the learning journey.
A Supportive Start to a New Learning Journey
Urban College takes pride in providing a caring, structured environment where disengaged students can re-connect with education and regain confidence in their abilities.
If you believe Urban College might be the right fit for your young person, we encourage you to submit an enquiry and begin the conversation today.
