About Urban College

Urban College is a dynamic and inclusive senior secondary school in Outer Eastern Suburbs. We are one of the leading alternative schools in Melbourne, providing a fresh approach to education for students in Years 10 to 12. Designed for young people seeking an alternative to mainstream schooling, Urban College combines academic rigour with a deep commitment to wellbeing, personal growth, and real-world relevance.

We believe that when students feel connected, supported, and empowered, learning becomes transformational. That’s why our approach is grounded in relationships, choice, and innovation. Our experienced educators and support staff work closely with each student to build confidence, unlock potential, and tailor pathways that reflect individual goals and strengths.

Through the Victorian Curriculum and the VCE Vocational Major, we offer hands-on, applied learning opportunities that engage students in meaningful and practical ways. Our programs extend beyond the classroom to include flexible working environments, community-based projects, and targeted tutoring—ensuring students can thrive wherever they are.

Urban College isn’t just about finishing school. It’s about building purpose, independence, and a positive future. We’re proud to be reshaping what education looks like for today’s learners—and creating a place where every student feels seen, heard, and ready to move forward.

“Your support for my education means so much to me and for you to welcome me to this school has made such a positive impact on my life, thank you endlessly for that. Thank you so much for all your support, I will never forget it.”

- Farris C (Year 12 student)

"My daughter had the most incredible experience at your college and to see how far she has come. She is just so happy, and nothing means more to me. She is now working in television and you guys helped her reach that goal. I can’t wait to enroll my Year 9 daughter.”

- Lisa E (Parent)

“I want to thank you for making this the best school year I’ve ever had. I was shocked at how caring you and the other teachers are. Thank you for helping me through the bad times and making them good. I have never enjoyed school except for this last year. You helped me with my confidence which I thought couldn’t be done as many teachers have tried. I never wanted to repeat a year, I thought it would be embarrassing but I regret passing because I miss this school.”

- Allira A (Year 12 student)

"I can’t thank you enough for your help over the years, whether it's just having a chat or helping me with my work. This school has supported me to pass Year 12 and offered me so much support, I will always appreciate this."

- Saraya A (Year 12 student)

“This school has supported me in so many ways, through learning and just helping us grow into the people we are today and the people we will be in the future. You’ve helped walk us through tough times if we needed it but also don’t mind lending a listening ear if we just feel like it. What you have taught us will stick with us long after we leave school.”

- Rosh (Year 12 student 2024)

“Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for caring so much about your students, and for being a shining ambassador. This journey to her becoming so much more confident, happy, and resilient was forged because you reached out and cared so much. You have been pivotal in her life, and for her personal growth and development - I can not thank you enough.”

- Vikki C (Parent)
