Year 11 Students Explore Top Arts 2026 at the NGV
On Monday 4th May, our Year 11 students from the Boronia campus stepped into the world of Top Arts at the NGV Ian Potter Centre, experiencing Top Arts 2026 – a showcase of exceptional VCE student artwork from across Victoria.
From bold concepts to deeply personal pieces, the exhibition inspired students to think differently about their own creative projects and challenged them to explore new ways of expressing their ideas.
Some of the key takeaways from the day included:
- Start with curiosity, not perfection
- Trust the process, not just the outcome
- Take creative risks and back your ideas
- Let your passion lead the way
What stood out most was how closely the exhibition reflected the learning experiences at Urban College. Every artwork represented a journey of experimentation, persistence and reflection – reminding students that creativity is not about getting it right the first time, but about exploring ideas, refining them and discovering where they can lead.
It was an inspiring day that encouraged our students to embrace their creativity and trust in their own artistic journeys.
