Learning Beyond the Classroom: Careers Expo & Sea Life Aquarium Excursions
Our students recently stepped beyond the classroom for two engaging learning experiences, with visits to the OELLEN Careers Expo and Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium.
At Sea Life Aquarium, our Year 10 students immersed themselves in the fascinating world of marine ecosystems as part of their Humanities studies. The excursion supported their current assessment by giving students the opportunity to investigate marine animals, observe different habitats, and explore the important relationships between species and their environments. Through real-world observation and inquiry, students were able to bring their classroom learning to life in a meaningful and interactive way.
Meanwhile, students attending the OELLEN Careers Expo had the opportunity to connect with industry representatives, training providers and education organisations. They explored a range of VET and VCE pathway options, discovered future study and employment opportunities, and gained valuable insights into the many possibilities available to them after school.
Experiences like these are an important part of learning at Urban College. By connecting classroom knowledge with real-world experiences, our students build confidence, spark curiosity, and develop a clearer understanding of their interests, strengths and future pathways.
We love providing opportunities that inspire our students to learn, explore and think about the exciting possibilities ahead.
