Our Certificate II in Community Services students from both the Boronia and Croydon campuses have successfully completed their first volunteer placement, making a fantastic start to their volunteering unit.

Throughout the day, students worked collaboratively in a community garden, taking part in a range of hands-on activities including planting, weeding and propagating. They also helped prepare the space for future improvements by cleaning and organising the shed and patio area ready for painting.

The group even began adding a creative touch to the garden by starting stencil work on the kitchen garden wall, which they will continue painting in the future.

Supervising staff were highly impressed by the students' teamwork, positive attitudes and enthusiasm throughout the day. It was wonderful to see students supporting one another, contributing to their local community and gaining valuable practical experience.

Congratulations to all of our students on a fantastic first volunteer placement. We look forward to seeing the continued impact of their work throughout the unit!
